What does the yellow triangle on my MRI or CT images mean?

Opened an MRI or CT in Medicai and saw a yellow triangle? It’s just a technical symbol, not a medical warning. You can ignore it.

If you’ve noticed a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on one of your MRI or CT images, don’t worry — it doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you.

This symbol appears when you open the scan in a DICOM viewer (like OHIF v3) and simply indicates that some technical information is missing from the file. For example, the image might be missing data like its position or other optional metadata. This depends on how the scan was saved or exported by the imaging machine.

Good to know:

  • You can still view the scan without any issues.

  • The symbol has nothing to do with your medical results.

  • Doctors can interpret the images even if the warning appears.

If you’re using Medicai to open your scan, you can safely ignore this symbol.

Still unsure? You can always share the scan directly with your doctor through the platform.
