How can I share or download my imaging study?

Learn about the available options for sharing your imaging study, including secure links, Request a Consultation, and downloading DICOM files.

Note: Sharing options become available only after you save the study to your Personal Archive.

For a quick overview of the process, watch the video below:

Option 1: Share Using a Link

This is the fastest way to share your study.

Open the study and click Share. You will be able to choose one of the available link options.

Password Protected Link

Anyone who receives the link will also need the password to access the study.

Medicai Users Only

Only users with a Medicai account who are signed in can access the study.

Public Link

Anyone who receives the link can access the study, even without a Medicai account.

For all link types, you can choose how long the link remains active, from 30 minutes up to 30 days.

Once the link is generated, simply copy it and send it by email, WhatsApp, or text message.

Option 2: Request a Consultation

Use this option if you would like to share the study directly with a doctor.

Enter your doctor's email address and, if needed, add a message or attach additional medical documents.

Your doctor will receive an invitation to create a free Medicai account and access the study directly in the platform.

This option is recommended if you would like to provide a doctor with direct and ongoing access to your study.

Option 3: Download the Study

You can download the study to your computer.

Downloaded studies are provided in DICOM format, the standard format used for medical imaging.

To open and view these files, you will need a compatible DICOM viewer installed on your device.

For most users, viewing the study directly in Medicai is the easiest option, as the platform includes an integrated medical viewer and does not require any additional software.
